Looking Ahead – The Charm School

By Dan Cristelli

Oh boy. When you see a Look Ahead post shortly after my last review it means one of two things: either the book was so fantastic I couldn’t put it down, or it wound up with the Rule Three treatment. Which are dealing with here? Well, read on and find out!

Let’s jump in to the next look ahead where I’ll be updating you on the book I’m currently reading, and answering these questions about the next book on the list:

  1. Why did I buy this book?
  2. Why haven’t I read this book?
  3. How am I feeling about jumping in to this book?

Currently Reading: The Timekeepers’ War by S.C. Jensen.

My Progress: Not far. I’m…not feeling this book at all. Perhaps it’s that I’m trying to find the same level of character development as the Gods of Blood and Powder series, or that the plot just isn’t grabbing me. Either way? I’m invoking Rule Three.

Up Next: The Charm School by Nelson DeMille, purchased on 9/13/2017.

Why I Purchased This Book: Good question. I believe that my friend Ben recommend DeMille to me, and this one was on sale for $3.17 so it seemed like a decent starting spot.

Why I Haven’t Read This Book: When I read regular fiction, I seem to always have a list of books waiting for me. For the past year or so that place has been taken up by the Andy Carpenter series.

How Am I Feeling About Reading This Book: Good – I have a feeling a reset from the fantasy genre is in order, and this should do the trick.
