The Non-List

When I set out to accomplish this task I knew a point would come where I would have to pick up some additional books. I was to tackle all the standalone books and any series titles where I own all of the books, which would give me a nice break from picking up books on sale. From there I would circle back and hit the books which might lead to more books.

The gateway books, if you will.

As I’ve entered new territory, I feel like it is appropriate to set a few rules here as well.

  • I will only pick up books that are next in a series that I am currently reading – no “oh, it’s on sale and I’ll get to this someday” purchases.
  • I’m moving away from reading The List in purchase order – I will read them in the order which interests me!
  • There are certain books which I will break this entire project for, namely anything Jim Butcher writes for The Dresden Files.
  • If the entirety of a series is not yet published, I will likely delay as long as possible so that I can pick up the newest book if I am so inclined.

So as these books aren’t in the original List I felt that it would be good to have them noted elsewhere. And who knows – if I continue this past the end of the list, perhaps I’ll just keep blogging about my reading and watch this list grow and grow!
